This is Theo, the tiger. Theo used to live in our yard. He was fearless an dangerous, a tiger of the nano variety, very rare in our area. Theo roamed the grass for snacks like ants and ladybugs. He’d sneak up on them and then pounce and BAM! – there would be his next meal. Occasional he’d get into a fight with a stink bug, but Theo didn’t mind. He was used to battle the meanest wasps and always come out on top. He would keep the upper hand, because Theo was a winner. All summer long he’d be hiding under dandelion leaves to make sure giant children hands would not get a hold of him. Because children’s hand meant Sandbox, and Sandbox was a desert of the worst kind. No food. No plants to hide under. But Theo was smart, and cunning.
Theo’s life was happy, and full of adventures. In the end, he didn’t survive his encounter with the lawn mower.
We miss you, Theodore.
